It’s Fall!

I don’t know about you, but when Fall rolls around, I’m ready for cooler weather, colorful leaves, and sweaters.

Change is constant in the weather and in content marketing too. I hope this issue of The Switch will help you keep up with the changing times and inspire you to do more with your content. I’m always here to help with ideas, inspiration, and elbow grease.

Is AI Content the Way to Go?

I’ve been thinking a lot about artificial intelligence and its impact on our world. It seems like everywhere you turn there’s a new application for AI, and it’s one that threatens us as human creators.

With the introduction of ChatGPT, AI thoroughly infiltrated the marketing world. Nobody is immune to the charm of its supersonic results.

But what about quality? This is what I explored in my latest blog, which includes the results of an AI experiment I performed that you can try at home. Read on to see the results.

Turning the Pages

It’s been a fun year watching a variety of projects come to fruition and helping authors celebrate their success! Looking for your next good read? You can call me biased, but I recommend these!

HEROic Leadership: The Secret to Developing Higher Performing Teams Using Psychological Capital by Melonie Boone, PhD

After so many Zoom meetings, it was wonderful to meet Melonie in person for the HEROic Leadership book launch in downtown Chicago. Melonie’s award-winning book from @BAna Studios explores the power of psychological capital, including hope, efficacy, resiliency, and optimism, otherwise known as HERO. Based on her original research, the book offers strategies for becoming a more HEROic leader, including an assessment to use for you and your team to determine existing levels of HERO and make a plan to increase it.

The SEAM Framework: Achieving Organizational Transformation in 4 Steps by Madeleine F. Wallace, PhD

The SEAM Framework is another offering from Fig Factor Media from Dr. Madeleine Wallace, who guides us through her framework for planning and executing an organizational transformation using the experience of Mora, a fictional (yet based in reality) entrepreneur. Mora discovers the barriers keeping her business from growing and applies the SEAM 4-Step framework–Snapshot, Envision, Act, and Measure—to implement technology that helps her business thrive.  It’s a relatable tale and clever instructional book on how to achieve digital transformation.

Gold is Where It Finds You by Brian Johnson

I was honored to be invited to Puerto Vallarta with Fig Factor Media for the book launch of Gold is Where It Finds You (pictured here with author Brian Johnson).  This Amazon bestseller is an amazing memoir of a modern-day goldminer in Alaska and the Yukon territory. Brian endured family turmoil, personal danger, and financial distress only to learn that while the earth pays a miner richly with gold, an even greater treasure can be found in the love of brotherhood, family, and the freedom to lead the life you want.

Todays Inspired Leader Volume V by Jacqueline S. Ruiz

I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for this anthology of personal stories of leadership and lessons learned created and published by Fig Factor Media. I joined the party in 2020 when I submitted a chapter for Todays Inspired Leader Volume II. (otherwise known as the “blue” one!) Doing so inaugurated me into an amazing club with the privilege of attending book launches and connecting with authors of future volumes. I have a feeling I’ll be attending more book launches as the series continues!

Do You Need a Fractional CMO?

Earlier this year I was invited to sit on a roundtable panel of the Marketing Leaders Connect (MLC ) networking group. With two other marketing professionals, we discussed everything about fractional CMOs (Chief Marketing Officer) from who they are to what they do and more.

Fractional CMOs are integrated into the organization and concerned with the company’s overall success rather than just the success of an initiative, as a marketing consultant might be. I combined my experience with inspiration from the other panel members and the lively audience discussion into a blog that explores everything about fractional CMOs…and why you might need one!
